The Theological Seminary

"...started in a very primitive manner -- a few students brought together and housed in small, one-room mud huts, the classes seated on verandas or under the shade of trees..."

It was originally established in Sialkot in 1877 as an institution of the Synod of the United Presbyterian Church of North America. Since 1954 it has functioned as a Union Seminary, preparing students from Karachi to Peshawar for ministry in the Christian Church and providing general training in Christian character and mission.

In 1912 the seminary moved to its present campus, then surrounded by fields; only in recent decades has it become engulfed in city housing. It still retains its attractive character, however, providing a most pleasant and spacious environment for study and reflection.
